I am finally setting up my very own blog. Who knew...just a few years ago the term "blog" meant nothing to me. While I knew it had to do with internet postings, I figured it was only for those computer savvy people out there. Fast forward to present time, and you find me addicted to no less than five blogs which I read religiously and cry when they're not updated regularly.

external.hard.drive.
I need to get an external hard drive- mainly for storing photos and music. Any recommendations on brands/models? I like this one, but that's because it's small and cute. I've learned that this isn't necessarily a good reason to buy something.
I have either an 80 GB or 100 GB version of the same WD external hard drive. I love it - have had no issues with it. I've stored my photos & my itunes library on there. The only drawback is that in order to update my ipod/rearrange music, download podcasts, etc, I have to have the external hard drive plugged in. Which is fine, really, because its so small (I take both the laptop & the hard drive with me a lot of places - like vacation, work, etc).
That's good to hear! I do like how small and compact it is- they say it's about the size of a 30GB mp3 player. I also found a larger version that has more storage, and it's cheaper. I can't decide what's more important to me!
External hard drives are just normal hard drives in enclosures. There are two sizes, because you're either getting a laptop hard drive (small) in an enclosure or a normal PC hard drive (big) in a larger enclosure. Laptop hard drives, the small ones, will be a bit more expensive and top out at smaller sizes, but the portability is very nice. I have one of those and it fits easily in a side pocket of a backpack or whatever.

I got mine from here-- also what G uses. I think they have some that are refurbished.
