numb.lip.update!

I forgot to update you all on my numb lip situation. I'm sure you were all waiting with bated breath! It turns out that of the two lesions they removed, one was an obstructed salivary gland as they had thought, but the other was a "benign, noncancerous nerve tumor." Marvelous. Apparently during the surgery I had four years ago, a nerve was cut (or something) and when it regrew, it formed a disorganized nerve bundle. So yeah, they cut out some nerve endings which explains why my lip is numb. The dr. said I should regain feeling in my lip within the next twelve months or so as the nerve regenerates. I guess I should start looking into that lip piercing.
